Our Team Members
Our Executive Director, Ashley Safar, is a visionary and strategic leader responsible for overseeing the overall operations and strategic direction of the community health center. This role requires a dedicated commitment to fostering strong relationships with Indigenous communities, ensuring culturally appropriate care, and promoting health equity. The Executive Director will lead the organization in providing high-quality health services, advancing Ontario Health initiatives, and advocating for the needs of populations who’ve traditionally faced barriers accessing health care.

Office Manager
The Office Manager ensures all administrative processes are in compliance with internal and regulatory compliance standards. They are responsible for managing and organizing the day-to-day operations and performing a wide range of administrative tasks. This role is the backbone of the Centre, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant provides a wide range of administrative and general office support to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.
Decision Support Analysis/Privacy Officer
The Decision Support Analyst (DSA) provides data support, data management and general IT support for all staff. The DSA is responsible for designing, developing, distributing, interpreting and analyzing data-based reports, performance indicators and metrics, organizational and service provider performance on both a regular and ad hoc basis to support evidence-informed decision making. Working closely with the senior leadership team to support the development, maintenance, and usage of decision support systems and provides analysis of business information to support strategic planning, management and decision-making activities.
Finance Manager
The Finance Manager is responsible for a wide range of items including but not limited to the preparation, administration and monitoring of operating and capital budgets, financial accounting and reporting, forecasting, auditing the company financials, risk assessments, and being involved with the Management team on existing and upcoming programs.
Bookkeeper
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.
Clinical Manager
The Clinic Manager oversees daily operations, ensuring effective delivery of primary care, health promotion, and community services. The Clinical Manager organizes an interdisciplinary team, supports program development, ensures compliance with regulations, and fosters a collaborative work environment. Additionally, they handle budgeting, quality improvement, and community partnerships to meet local health needs and promote equitable care.
Physicians
The physician’s principal role is to provide primary health care to the clients of the Ptbo CHC; emphasizing a holistic approach to chronic disease management, health promotion, harm reduction, disease prevention, support and treatment. Physicians embrace a deep understanding of the diverse perspectives of our team and clients, an ability to recognize and mitigate unconscious biases, and a commitment to treating everyone with respect and compassion.
Nurse Practitioners
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide holistic and culturally informed primary health care services to individuals and families, and communities. Working with the interdisciplinary team, the NP will assist with health promotion, illness prevention and treatment, health education, awareness, counselling and education. NP’s are mindful of cultural practices, approaches and traditional medicines that support holistic care and services.
Registered Nurses
A Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and coordinating client care, delivering health education, and offering emotional support to clients and their families. As an RN at Peterborough Community Health Centre (PCHC) it is essential that our staff demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to support flexible models of engagement, reporting, and accountability with Indigenous Peoples and Newcomers to Canada.
Registered Practical Nurse
A Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) works as part of our interdisciplinary team to support the overall health and wellness of clients by delivering professional clinical services in a primary care setting. The RPN at Peterborough Community Health Centre (PCHC) plays a vital role in providing compassionate, client-centered care and supports flexible models of engagement, reporting, and accountability with Indigenous Peoples and Newcomers to Canada.
Medical Office Administrators
The Medical Office Administrator is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the CHC office including the development, planning, administration, organization and operation of services. The MOA works within a multidisciplinary team to provide a variety of administrative and logistical support
Program Manager
The Program Manager is a unique position that contributes to the growth and success of the organization by overseeing administration, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs. They are an integral part of the team working closely with the Clinic Manager to ensure that PCHC achieves its goals. Program Managers are responsible for managing a dedicated team of Allied Health Professionals to ensure the successful implementation and growth of our services.
Health Promoter
The Health Promoter works to enhance the health of community members through educational and prevention strategies, program development, and advocacy and engagement approaches in order to reduce inequities in the determinants of health. Working both independently and collaboratively with staff, community partners, and clients, the health promoter employs education strategies, community development techniques, and program planning, implementation and evaluation research methods.
Social Workers
The Social Worker provides frontline support to individuals, focusing on assessment, support planning, system navigation, and advocacy. Additionally, they play a critical role in connecting clients with resources, supporting emotional well-being, and addressing the social determinants of health.
System Navigators
The System Navigator provides intake and comprehensive assessment services through the lens of the social determinants of health, supports care coordination, and links individuals to appropriate internal and external supports. System Navigators are committed to trauma-informed, culturally safe, and equity-focused care, with an emphasis on building trust and strong relationships with clients and community partners.
Indigenous Wellness Coordinator
The Indigenous Health Equity and Wellness Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting health equity, cultural safety, and wellness initiatives for Indigenous communities. This position collaborates with Indigenous peoples, community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to identify barriers, develop culturally appropriate programs, and advocate for systemic change in health services.
